Guide
Decorative flake is the finish most Cape Coral and Fort Myers homeowners pick for a garage. This is what it is, how it goes down, and how it behaves once you are living with it.
Flake refers to small vinyl chips broadcast into a wet pigmented base coat. Once the base cures, the chips are locked in place and a high-build clear topcoat goes over the top to become the wearing surface. The result is a layered system, not a painted slab.
Blends combine several colors and chip sizes, which is what gives a flake floor its depth and its ability to visually absorb dust and scuffs.
Every flake floor we install follows the same sequence.
The flake layer leaves a subtle texture in the finished surface, so a flake floor generally has more traction than a smooth gloss coating — useful in a Florida garage where rain comes in with the car. Cleaning is a broom plus a rinse or mop; no wax and no harsh strippers.
Because the pattern is multi-tone, small debris and tire scuffs are far less visible day to day than they are on a solid color floor.
We bring blend options to the estimate so you can see them in the actual light of your garage. A basic 2-car garage flake floor starts at $2,000 and a basic 3-car garage flake floor starts at $3,000. These are starting prices — final pricing depends on square footage, the condition of your slab, and the finish you choose.
Tell us about your floor and we'll come out, look at the slab, and give you a written price. Serving Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and the surrounding Southwest Florida communities.
